Sam’s Slush Margaritas
Years & years ago we brought or were given a bottle of tequila, we made tequila sun rises which are fab but I fancied making margaritas after lots of tries at different methods this was the result!
They are slush puppy like (granita) in texture as they are served straight from the freezer. Our preference is no salt around the glass, but that’s for you to decide.
You can make them a few days in advance and add as much or little alcohol as you wish!
Sam’s Slush Margaritas
4 measures of freshly squeezed lime juice
2 measures of sugar syrup (see below)
4 measures of tequila
2 measures cointreau (optional)
Makes 2 large or 4 medium servings
Note:Make sugar syrup ahead of time.
Gradually pour 2 cups of granulated sugar into a saucepan with 1 cup of hot water. Simmer until all the sugar has dissolved. Cool and store in a bottle in the fridge for up to a month.
Mix ingredients together stir well and place in the freezer until ready to serve. Best made the day before to give them chance to freeze.
Stir before spooning into glasses, drink with a straw. Coloured cocktails umbrella totally optional!
Cheers!
Still thinking about these 😉 no one was serving them tonight so I stuck with my usual Gin and Tonic
